Title I Services
Title I is the United States Federal Government’s largest assistance program for schools. The goal of Title I is to help every child receive a high quality education and to achieve the high standards set by the State of Minnesota. The Federal government allocates money to the states, which then allocate money to school districts. Funding is based on the number of low income students in each district. The school district identifies schools that can receive the federal funds.

Robbinsdale School District's Title I schools are: Forest, Lakeview, Meadow Lake and Northport elementary schools and Sacred Heart and St. Raphael's Catholic schools.
Announcements
No Child Left Behind Waiver Information
The Minnesota Department of Education has announced that the No Child Left Behind waiver request was approved by the U.S. Department of Education.   As a result, students residing in a Title I elementary school’s attendance area will no longer receive district transportation to a non-Title I school, beginning next year (2012-13). Robbinsdale Area Schools is contacting families at this time to ensure that they understand their options and are able to make an informed decision regarding their school of choice for next year.

If you transferred your student from a Title I school to a non-Title I school, your student may remain at his/her current school; however, beginning in 2012-13, district transportation will no longer be provided.

If you prefer to have your child return to your neighborhood Title I school, please contact the school’s office for registration information. Transportation is provided to all neighborhood schools.

Students receiving Supplemental Education Services (SES) free tutoring during the 2011-12 school year will be allowed to complete the program. Beginning in the 2012-13 school year, SES free tutoring will no longer be offered.

Please do not hesitate to call 763-504-8113 or 763-504-8010 if you have additional questions - or refer to the No Child Left Behind Frequently Asked Questions document below.
